NuGrooves | Funky Town

Monday doesn't need an alarm. It needs a bass line.
This chapter of Nu Grooves opens with something unexpected — Loredana Bertè, reworked into house in 2023, and it lands exactly right. From there the set drops lower before it climbs: Even Funkier, Barry White reshaped by DJ Chuski, FPI Project reaching back into the nineties. Patient, warm, the groove settling in before it asks anything of you.
The build is slow and deliberate — FLAUR's Art of Tones mix, a PNAU rework of Tame Impala that earns its place — and then Jimmy Hyacinthe arrives with something so purely funk it almost stops the sequence. In the best possible way.
The second half belongs to Chaka Khan in a Todd Terje edit, Claptone, Underground System — voices throughout, bass throughout, the kind of warmth that doesn't fade as the BPM rises.
Most of these tracks I found recently. Not all of them are new — but finding them felt like that.
